The Birman Cat Club was founded in January 1969, and has become one of the largest pedigree cat clubs in the UK.

Breeders in the Club have worked hard over many years, promoting the breed, preserving the original colours, whilst introducing the newer ones. Their dedication and diligence has ensured today's high standards, and the Club is widely acknowledged as being the definitive voice for Birmans of all colours throughout the United Kingdom.

The Club is particularly noted for its care of all Birmans. Our Welfare and Rescue services co-ordinated by Angela Walker on 01785 251609 and all the Area Contacts are listed on the Welfare page.

The Club stages its annual Championship Show early in November with some 150 of the UK's top show Birmans competing for honours, as well as some famous Birmans on exhibition in the ‘Hall of Fame’ pens.

Pet Birmans are important to the Club, and their owners are encouraged to enter them for the unique ‘Pet Birman of the Year Awards’ from the comfort of their own home! They can also enter the Club Show in the Pedigree Pet section, using their pet names.

A Kitten Register is co-ordinated by Nicki Fenwick-Raven (01255 850021) with area contacts throughout the UK.

Club Merchandise is available via Mail Order (Anne and Peter Madden on 01993 843163) or at our club stall at major cat shows.

Members receive one superb 100+ page Summer Magazine and a substantial Winter Newsletter - musts for Birman lovers and packed full of advice, news and articles, including details of Social Events, such as the post-show Dinner, and the Summer Garden Parties.

INTRODUCING THE NEW BIRMAN CAT CLUB LOYALTY POINTS INCENTIVE SCHEME

After considering the replies to the recent member's questionnaire, the committee has decided to implement the Loyalty Points incentive.

Every member who proposes a new member shall be awarded one loyalty point for each new member. Each point will have a monetary value of £2.

Points can be accumulated and exchanged against the price of Club items purchased. These items will include Club membership subscriptions, Club merchandise, advertising in the Club Magazine, advertising on the kitten list & the breeder's page on our website or they can be donated to Birman Rescue.

This incentive started 1st July 2012.

All points will be collated by Trophy Secretary Donna Coupland and when members wish to exchange their points, they should contact her at brofieldbirmans@outlook.com.
