The Birman Cat Club, founded in January 1969, has grown into one of the largest pedigree cat clubs in the UK. Our breeders have dedicated years to promoting the breed, preserving the original colours, and introducing new ones. Their dedication has ensured the high standards we see today, making our Club the definitive voice for Birmans of all colours across the UK.
The Club is renowned for its commitment to the well-being of all Birmans. Our Welfare and Rescue services, co-ordinated by Julia Ward and Pat Williams, and our Area Contacts listed on the Welfare page, are always ready to help.
Each year, we host our annual Championship Show, featuring some of the UK’s top show Birmans competing for honours. The show also includes the famous ‘Hall of Fame’ pens, showcasing renowned Birmans.
Our Kitten Register, managed by Nicki Fenwick-Raven, connects prospective owners with reputable, BCC registered breeders throughout the UK.
Members receive regular Newletters with advice, news, and articles. These publications also include details of any upcoming social events. Members are encouraged to contribute.
